That first night in the hospital, Owen slept hard beside me, exhausted from a long day's work. I, however, was coasting on the rushes of endorphins my body gave me to counteract the pain of the contractions. It was night, it was dark, and all I wanted to do was look at this sweet new baby lying in my arms. I started taking photos with the flash off, not quite knowing how they'd turn out. Over the first few days, I was enraptured by her late-night face, and found myself often grabbing the camera after a sweet nursing session.
